Net Metering
RCEC thanks you for your interest in Net Metering. Per New Mexico Public Regulation Commission rules, Roosevelt County Electric Cooperative is happy to offer net metering to our valued members. We are providing you with accessible information to make your interconnection as efficient as possible.
Prior to any solar/wind installation, contact Eric Segovia, Engineering Manager at RCEC, to have a pre-application discussion and to answer any questions you may have.
On October 1, 2021, a rate rider went in to effect to assure that consumers choosing to install a distributed generation (DG - such as wind or solar) system continue to pay their fair share of the costs of construction, operation and maintenance of the RCEC electric system that are incurred by RCEC to serve these members. This change affected Rate No. 1 - General Service, Rate No. 2 - Commercial Service and Rate No. 3 - Irrigation Pumping and Dryer Service by introducing a rate rider for RCEC members who chose to purchase and install a DG system after October 1, 2021. More information regarding this rate change can be obtained directly from the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission website or from our office.
