Roosevelt County Electric Cooperative, Inc. is proud to sponsor up to 4 high school Juniors and Seniors for the 2026 Government-In-Action Youth Tour—an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C.
Each year, more than 2,000 students from across the country come together for this unforgettable experience. During the tour, participants will:
- Meet elected officials and learn how our federal government works
- Explore the history of electric cooperatives and rural electrification
- Visit world-class museums, memorials, and monuments in our nation’s capital

Applications are available for download below, at our office (121 N. Main, Portales, NM), or through your high school counselor.
Application Deadline: Friday, January 30, 2026, by 5:00 p.m.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered, applicants must:
- Be a high school Junior or Senior
- Be a dependent of an active RCEC member and live in the RCEC service area
- Submit a completed application, including all required signatures and a 500-word essay, by the deadline above
