Youth Tour Delegates

Roosevelt County Electric Cooperative, Inc. is proud to sponsor up to 4 high school Juniors and Seniors for the 2026 Government-In-Action Youth Tour—an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C.

Each year, more than 2,000 students from across the country come together for this unforgettable experience. During the tour, participants will:

  • Meet elected officials and learn how our federal government works
  • Explore the history of electric cooperatives and rural electrification
  • Visit world-class museums, memorials, and monuments in our nation’s capital

Tour Dates: June 15–20, 2026

How to Apply

Applications are available for download below, at our office (121 N. Main, Portales, NM), or through your high school counselor.

Application Deadline: Friday, January 30, 2026, by 5:00 p.m.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be a high school Junior or Senior
  • Be a dependent of an active RCEC member and live in the RCEC service area
  • Submit a completed application, including all required signatures and a 500-word essay, by the deadline above
